Dreamcatcher Mourns Founding Board Member

It is with a heavy heart here at the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation, we mourn the passing of our eldest and wisest board member, Vera Styres. Her voice and her opinion carried a lot of weight in our board meetings, as she was so committed to our native communities.

Vera was an active board member for the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation/Fund for 18+ years. She was a part of the founding board and helped enormously to create the Dreamcatcher we have today. As a member of our board, her focus was always on the applicants. She was a part of the decision-making process for every application that was seeking approval within’ the foundation.

Vera was a very educated woman. She had earned a degree when she was 50 years of age. She had great determination and never gave up on her goals.

Vera was also immensely involved in many sports teams on Six Nations since her children were young. Anyone who knew her knew her love for lacrosse.

We will always remember Vera’s contribution to the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation. We want to express our sincerest condolences to all of her family and friends, thank you for sharing Vera with us.

You will be sadly missed by the Board Members and Staff of Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation
